01 Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old. The Services are designed for adults; minors may use them only with parental supervision. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
02 Accounts & Authentication
You may authenticate using email with a one-time passcode, Apple Sign-In, or Google Sign-In. Authentication is managed by Firebase Authentication. Butler does not store passwords.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
03 License to Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reverse engineer, misuse, or interfere with the Services. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Butler.
04 User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant Butler a limited license to store and display your content solely within your account to operate the Services.
Personal-use imports, including cookbooks, blogs, and photos you took yourself, are allowed. Public redistribution or infringement is not allowed. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all content you upload or import into the Services.
Imported recipes, images, and other content saved to your Butler account are intended for personal use only and are stored privately within your account. Butler does not make user-imported content publicly visible or accessible to other users.
Butler may introduce optional features in the future that allow users to share their own original recipes, meal plans, or other content with others. Any sharing will be voluntary and opt-in. Users will be responsible for ensuring they have the rights to share any content they choose to make available. Additional terms, controls, or restrictions may apply if and when those features are introduced.

Butler complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Copyright claims may be sent to support@ButlerKitchen.com.
06 AI Features
Certain features of the Services use artificial intelligence technologies provided by third-party service providers, currently including OpenAI, to generate recipes, text responses and recommendations and to analyze user-submitted fridge and pantry images. Butler may add, replace, or change AI providers as the Services evolve.
AI-generated content and image-analysis results are provided for informational and convenience purposes only. Butler does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI outputs. AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or based on assumptions and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for decisions related to cooking, nutrition, allergies, food safety, or dietary needs.
Butler does not currently use Butler account data, personal data, or user-generated content to train Butler-owned or third-party general-purpose AI models. AI practices may change in the future only subject to the updated disclosures, notice, and consent described in the Privacy Policy and required by applicable law and platform rules. You remain responsible for reviewing and verifying identified ingredients, allergens, instructions, freshness, and suitability for your personal needs before preparing or consuming any food.
Recipe photography and image scanning
Recipe images displayed inside Butler are real recipe photographs, not AI-generated recipe images. When you choose to scan your fridge or pantry, Butler uses AI to analyze the image you submit and help identify items that may be present. Image-analysis results can be incomplete or incorrect and should be reviewed by you.
07 Not Medical Advice
You are solely responsible for verifying allergens and food safety. Butler is not responsible for any adverse reactions, illness, or injury resulting from the preparation or consumption of food based on the Services. Butler does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Recipes and cooking suggestions provided through the Services are for general informational purposes only. Butler does not review or verify user-saved, imported, or AI-generated recipes for accuracy, safety, or suitability. You are responsible for proper food handling, preparation, and allergen awareness. Dietary preferences are optional and non-medical.
08 Payments & Subscriptions
Payment methods
Butler offers subscriptions through different platforms depending on how you access the Services. Subscriptions purchased in the iOS app are processed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Subscriptions purchased in the Android app are processed through Google Play. Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe, with subscription access and entitlements administered through RevenueCat. Your billing relationship and payment terms are also governed by the provider used at the time of purchase.
Pricing, promotional offers, and term lengths
Current prices, subscription duration, introductory pricing, free-trial eligibility, renewal price, and other offer terms are displayed before purchase and form part of these Terms. Promotional offers may be limited to eligible users, channels, or time periods and may not be combined. Unless the checkout says otherwise, promotional pricing applies only to the initial subscription term.
Automatic renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions automatically renew for the term and at the price disclosed at checkout unless cancelled before renewal. Trial subscriptions convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends. To avoid a charge, cancel within the time shown by your payment provider. Cancelling stops future renewal but does not ordinarily provide a refund for the current term.
Manage or cancel an Apple subscription through Apple ID settings, a Google Play subscription through Google Play settings, and a web subscription through the account or subscription-management method provided for the purchase. Deleting your Butler account does not automatically cancel a subscription with Apple, Google, Stripe, or another payment provider.
Restore and access
If you reinstall the app or change devices, use the available restore or sign-in flow to reconnect an eligible subscription. You are responsible for using the account associated with your purchase.
Refunds
Except where required by applicable law or the applicable payment platform’s policies, purchases are final. Requests relating to an Apple or Google Play purchase must be directed to the applicable platform. For web purchases, contact support@ButlerKitchen.com.
09 Prohibited Conduct
You may not misuse the Services, upload illegal content, infringe rights, attempt to bypass security, interfere with the Services, or use the Services for unlawful or harmful purposes.
10 Termination & Account Deletion
We may suspend or terminate accounts at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or misuse of the Services.
Deleting or uninstalling the app from your device does not delete your account or associated data. If Butler is installed, initiate deletion using “Delete Account” in App Settings. If you no longer have the app, use our web deletion pathway or email support@ButlerKitchen.com. Account deletion does not automatically cancel a subscription; you remain responsible for cancelling through the provider used for the purchase.
11 Intellectual Property
All Butler branding and software are owned by Elizabeth Rider International, Inc. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any Butler intellectual property.
12 Disclaimers & Liability
“As is” basis
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
No guarantee of outcomes
Butler does not guarantee any specific health, nutrition, budgeting, savings, or lifestyle outcomes from use of the Services. Any weight loss, health, or financial claims are illustrative and not a guarantee of results.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Elizabeth Rider International, Inc. and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.
Right to modify Services
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or portion of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for those changes or for any loss of access to user-generated content.
Force majeure
Butler is not responsible for delays, interruptions, or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including third-party service outages, internet disruptions, or acts of God.
Third-party platform terms
If you download or purchase Butler through Apple, Google, or another third-party platform, that platform’s terms may also apply. These Terms are between you and Butler, not the platform provider. Butler is responsible for the app and its content and, to the extent required by applicable platform terms, for maintenance and support. Platform providers are not responsible for resolving disputes between you and Butler relating to the app or Services.
Apple App Store additional terms
Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support services for the app and, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, will have no warranty obligation with respect to the app. Claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty will be Butler’s responsibility to the extent required by applicable law. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms as they relate to the iOS app and may enforce the applicable provisions against you.
These Terms contain a binding arbitration agreement and a class action waiver that affect your legal rights. Please review Section 13 carefully.
13 Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
Washington State law applies, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved exclusively by final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules in Seattle, Washington, unless brought individually in small claims court.
By using the Services, you knowingly and voluntarily waive your right to a jury trial and to participate in class actions. This dispute resolution provision survives termination of your account or use of the Services.
14 Changes, Assignment & Business Transitions
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If Butler ever changes hands
We are not currently planning to sell Butler, but businesses can evolve. We may assign these Terms and transfer related rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of Butler or relevant business assets, or by operation of law. Any successor would assume the applicable obligations under these Terms. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent.
